Gasthaus im Hochspessart is surrounded by deciduous forest with beautiful forest trails for cycling and hiking. Afterwards stop at the inn in the Hochspessart with good bourgeois menu and friendly staff. Happy hens there are there to admire.

We were there for a company outing, the conditions were friendly, but that's about it! For example, as a meal I had dumplings with mushrooms, tastefully ok, but the dumplings were very small. For dessert ice cream with raspberry sauce from the pack, well, good ice cream tastes different! And we all froze! We all sat with jackets and even asked for a radiant heater! And no, we were not sitting outside!

The fish is recommended. Ambiance suits. Staff very friendly and fast.

Inn in a great location. Guest rooms rustic furnished. Menu with home-style cooking and 2 starters soup on offer. Our food Sauerbraten and trout were not that great on this day. You can only pay in cash.

As a fish lover I have to say: I've never eaten such a superbly prepared "trout miller". The side dishes were also perfectly matched. Worth mentioning is also the hospitality (we had two children), which we were allowed to enjoy! We will definitely be back!
